The primary job duties of this Fish and Wildlife Technician 1 position include:
o Incumbent may be required to work alone in rough terrain during all seasons. o Assist with flora surveys using various types of equipment to inventory and document the condition of wildlife habitats. o Assist with the implementation of habitat and access projects on state-owned Wildlife Management Areas. o Assist with field compliance checks of various projects and work with the contractor(s) and other regional staff to ensure completion of work/compliance with contract conditions. o Assist in disseminating information to conservation partners, stakeholders and the general public and report preparation as directed. In addition to these primary responsibilities, the technician will:
o Assist with field-based wildlife surveys. o Collect biological information from hunter-harvested deer. o Participate in the annual stocking of propagated pheasants. o Participate in the annual banding effort for Canada Geese and ducks.

Salary Range:
From $18.22 to $18.22 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
Thirty (30) semester college credit hours, including or supplemented by twelve (12) semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management, mariculture, marine biology, aquaculture, aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology, zoology, marine technology, botany, limnology, hydrology or oceanography. Preferred:
At least one course in either forest biology or botany. Good verbal and communication skills, a basic proficiency of ArcMap GIS along with Microsoft Office 365 products such as Excel, Word and Outlook. Good wildlife and tree identification skills. MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
